Christmas

So this is Christmas…

Time to give and receive gifts. A big big table with all the family…

I like this time… My wish is that in this Christmas time we remember the one who birth on this date… That “little child born in Bethlehem” who became the divisor of the history…

Remember that baby who became the man that carried over his shoulder the weight of the sin and died for we live…

A very merry Christmas for all and may Jesus be on every party tonight…

Why two standards? And now PDF?

Avi Alkalay translated to english the Jomar Silva’s Post about standards, ISO and etc. It’s a very good post.

It seems that all the mess Microsoft made about “ODF or OOXML” will repeat on the question “PDF or XPS”. Remeber: ODF and PDF are already standards, but Microsoft wants to force the use of their formats.

Microsoft has released Windows Vista along with a new standard for non-editable electronic documents, called XPS (XML Paper Specification), which uses the same packaging concepts of OpenXML (OpenPackaging Convention) to represent non-editable documents. Who guess where XPS is standardized as another “Open Standard” wins a gift… ECMA… A lot of creativity is not needed to understand that this standard will also be submitted to ISO through a FasTrack in the coming months, just following the OpenXML opened path to that.

Celebrate.

Yesterday me and my wife went out to celebrate our “dating anniversary”. “Uhn?” - you may think - “why to celebrate a ‘dating anniversary’ if you’re married?”

Here goes my simple tip: Celebrate.

It all begins on that dec 6th, when I knew I would like to live all my life on her side. We knew that God was joining us for a beautiful romance and on that day I ask her to marry me!

“Uhn?” - you think again - “Didn’t you tell that you start to date on that day?”

Exactly. But I also told that I knew I would like to live all my life on her side.

We married two years and four months ago, but happy for six! And every “dating anniversary”, marriage anniversary, or birthday are a new reason to thank God for the wonders of this years…

Have you already looked through your window at morning, saw that it was a beautiful day and thanked God for this?

Celebrate.

Asus Eee PC

You can help me to win an Asus EeePC simply by voting on my answer on a promotion here on Brazil.

So, what my phrase means?

The question is: Where should Linux run?

My answer: “Linux should run on deputies and senators. So their filesystem would be less subject to corruption, the votes of draft laws would be significant faster, with fewer crashes, and the uptime would not be only from Tuesday to Thursday, but for seven days a week.”

To vote you only need a valid mail and know the answer to a simply sum (like 5 + 2) to confirm. After it you have to click on a link on your email.

It would be nice to install Ubuntu on it and use to spread Ubuntu here…

Please, vote here!

PS: You can also help me passing it on…

Pass it on!
